WHEN TO GO

The island nation of Sri Lanka sees two different monsoons. The island wears a tropical climate as it is very close to the equator and humidity levels are very high. It’s monsoon time in the West and Southwest coasts and the hilly areas of Sri Lanka between April-May to September (while most of the rains happen between April-June). The other monsoon the island nation sees is the Northeast Maha monsoon that hits the eastern coast. This happens between the months of November to March. Therefore, if you are planning on visiting the West and the Southern coasts and the hilly regions, it is between December-March. April-September is the ideal time to visit the eastern coast of the island. So, if you are on a Ramayana Trails discovery in Sri Lanka, then the best time to visit the Southeast and South-central side of Sri Lanka would most definitely be the months from April to September.
