Start your Laos tour package in the capital city of Vientiane. On arrival, you will be welcomed by our travel representative and transferred to a centrally located hotel. After resting for a few hours, you will set out to see some of the many popular sites of the capital.
The sightseeing will begin from Wat Sisaket, the ancient temple which boasts of more than a thousand miniature Buddha statues of different styles and sizes. Additionally, the temple is beautifully emblazed with a unique 5-tiered Burmese-styled roof, a small library, and a drum tower. The breath-taking architecture is also the reason why so many art and architecture lovers often visit this incredible temple.
After Wat Sisaket, you will visit the majestically royal Temple of Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of Emerald Buddha, for originally enshrining the translucent green Phra Kaew Morakot (the Emerald Buddha).
Before visiting The Luang Stupa, a highly revered structure, you will have a stopover at the imperial monument of The Patuxai, which was built between 1957 and 1968 to honour the souls who fought for the independence of France. The iconic framework is also known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. Do not forget to click the pictures of this resplendent monument before heading toward the Stupa.
The day’s tour shall end after witnessing a mesmerizing sunset by the Mekong Riverside. Soak in the healing vibes of this soul-stirring city under a starry night before returning to your hotel for the overnight stay.
You will board a flight from Vientiane to Xiangkhouang in the afternoon. Xiangkhouang is best known as the city which was destroyed by the American bombing between 1964 and 1973. You will meet our travel representative at the airport and transferred to see the Plain of Jars, a monolith archaeological site dotted with large stone jars spread across Xiangkhouang plateau. This will be followed by a visit to the old province of Muang Khoung, the ancient capital of the region. After years of invasions by China and Vietnam, this province has survived as a village and home to Hmong hilltribe and Tai Dam community. The cultural, historical and traditional vibes of the place and nearby villages are worth soaking in.
You will finally return to your hotel for the overnight stay.
Your tour for the day will start at early morning with a visit to the Central Market of Phonsavanh, which gives off the vibe of typical Laos lifestyle. The market thrives on serving various hilltribe communities, before you hit the road to reach Luang Prabang, a small town best known for offering splendid views of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. However, you will stop by at Thampra, a 200-year old site known for Buddha images. You will also get up, close and personal with various Hmong and hilltribe minority villages on your way to the old town.
As you start a journey uphill, the picturesque views of the mountainside will slowly build the mood for a tea stopover, at Sala Phoukhoun, where the borders of Vientiane - Xiangkhouang - Luang Prabang meet. From here, once you reach the tranquil town of Luang Prabang, its charm will rejuvenate your senses.
You will soon check into your hotel in this splendorous town. However, your tour will not finish there. If time permits, you would visit the incredible Stupa of Wat Visoun, shrine of Wat Aham and Wat Mai, before heading to the top of Mount Phousi, a sacred hill that offers a stunning panorama of Luang Prabang. A visit to the glided stupa of Wat Chom Si, which is graciously settled in the heart of Mount Phousi followed watching the sunset from the hill top will be the perfect ending to a great day. A stroll through the Night Market, which is known for its stunning collection of handmade textiles by the local people before returning to the hotel is also recommended for our guests. Your overnight stay will be arranged at the hotel in Luang Prabang.
The day’s tour will begin from a short-visit to the oldest temple of the city, Wat Sene, also known as the ‘Temple of 100,000 treasures.’ The Buddhist temple glitters in gold and was constructed in 1718 by King Kitsarath.
Our next stop will be at Wat Xieng Thong, another Buddhist Temple in Luang Prabang known for its 16-century Lao architecture, which is elaborated with rich mosaic patterns and carvings. Thereafter, you will go on a boat ride up to the Mekong River, to witness the spectacular views of the countryside, before you embark to explore the mystical Pak Ou Cave, which is set amidst a dramatic limestone cliff at the end of Mekong River. These caves are packed with over 4,000 gold-veneered images of Buddha in various meditative poses.
One of the stopovers will also include Ban Xanghai, a small hamlet known for its rice wine production. On your way back, you will also drive to Ban Phanom village, which is particularly known for cotton and silk weaving.
After this, you will be transferred to your hotel for the overnight stay.
