Arrive at Bhubaneswar, the capital city of the state of Odisha. Travel to Puri and check in to the hotel. Later, visit Jagannath Temple in Puri, one of the most revered temples in East India and one of the Char Dhams (other three being Rameshwaram, Badrinath and Dwarka). Later, visit Gundicha Temple, in the midst of a garden, just a short distance from Jagannath Temple.
The evening is free for leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, return to Bhubaneswar. Enroute, visit Chandrabhaga Beach and Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 13th century. The temple includes a massive chariot being pulled by horses and wheels. Also, visit a Pipili appliqué work market and the Shanti Stupa of Dhauligiri.
Reach Bhubaneswar and visit the Lingaraja Temple, a 1000+ year old temple with a 180 ft Gopuram built in classic Kalinga style architecture and one of the most revered Lord Shiva Temples in Odisha. Also, visit the 10th century Mukteswara Temple and Chausath Yogini Temple with over 64 yoginis in the temple.
The evening is free for leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to the Bhubaneswar railway station / airport to travel to Kolkata. Go on a half day sightseeing tour of Kolkata, driving past the Howrah Bridge and visiting Belur Mutt - the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Jorasanko Thakur Bari - the house where Rabindranath Tagore was born. Later, drive past Dalhousie Square (Benoy-Badal-Dinesh Bagh), where there are several historic buildings such as Raj Bhawan, General Post Office Building, Kolkata High Court, Kolkata Town Hall, etc. If you have time on your hands, explore Victoria Memorial, a large white marble building.
Stay overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, visit Gangasagar, a small island at the confluence of the River Ganges and the Bay of Bengal. Travel to Harwood Point by car, and then take a ferry to Kachuberia, from where you again take a car to Gangasagar. The Kamil Muni Temple here is of great religious significance.
Return to Kolkata for your overnight stay.
After breakfast, visit Kalighat Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas of India, and Birla Temple. Transfer to the airport / railway station for your journey back home.
