OVERVIEW

A comprehensive romantic Cretan Glory tour makes for a perfect honeymoon covering the capital city of Athens, Santorini, Crete, and Mykonos. You arrive in Athens, where you explore with a city tour. From here, a ferry ride takes you to the beautiful Mykonos islands. Then, you move to Santorini, where you explore the Volcano, Hot Springs and Thirassia. Finally, you reach Crete and here you explore the local markets, foods and a lot more and you leave for home from here.

  • On Day 1 and 2, you arrive in Athens and take a half day tour exploring its many landmarks including the Acropolis.
  • On Day 3 and 4, you now leave by a ferry to the next romantic and beautiful destination, Mykonos and explore on your own.
  • On Day 5 and 6, you now leave by ferry for Santorini and you will be taken on a cruise at Caldera where you will visit an active volcano and thermal springs. Later, you will visit the island of Thirassia.
  • On Day 7 and 8, you will travel to the next island destination, Crete.
  • On Day 9, prepare to depart to Athens via flight.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrive in Athens

You will be welcomed by your tour guide on landing in Athens International Airport. You will then be taken to your hotel to check in, after which you free to spend the day exploring this labyrinth of a city with interest at every corner. Athens is an ancient city, the birthplace of civilization with amazing history behind it. Optional - Athens by Night Tour.

DAY 2

Athens City Tour with Acropolis Museum

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken by your tour guide to begin your half day Athens sightseeing tour. You will begin at the Acropolis all the way to Omonia Square. A visit to the Panathinaikon Stadium is a must to see where the first ever modern Olympics were held in the year 1896. After this stop you will be passing the Zappeion, The Temple of Olympian Zeus and The Athens trilogy which includes the Academy, The University and the National Library. As this half day tour continues to progress you will go past various other sites of importance like the Hadrian’s Arch, National Garden, St. Paul’s Church, The Tomb of the Unknown soldier, the Parliament, Schliemann’s House (Numismatic Museum), Catholic Cathedral, the Old Parliament, Constitution Square, and the Russian Orthodox Church. You will also get a chance to visit the Parthenon Hall and have a short stop over at the Dionysus and Herodion Theatres.

The evening is free for you to spend at your leisure where you may opt to go on a Cape Sounion Tour of Athens by Night tour.

DAY 3

Athens to Mykonos

After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out of your hotel and go to the port to catch your ferry to Mykonos. Upon arriving at the staggeringly beautiful island of Mykonos you will be taken to your hotel for check in.

DAY 4

Day at Leisure in Mykonos

After breakfast, spend the day strolling through cobbled narrow streets of Chora, visiting churches, basking in the sunlight on heavenly beaches or living it up during the night. Uncover the secrets of Mykonos and you will hold with you those fond and happy memories spent here for the rest of your life. You may also join an optional Delos Tour.

DAY 5

Mykonos to Santorini

You will travel via ferry to the island of Santorini after breakfast at the hotel. Once you arrive on this tiny yet stupendous island, you will be taken to your hotel for check in.

DAY 6

Santorini Cruise to Volcanic Hot Springs

After breakfast at your hotel, get ready to get on cruise where you will have an interesting chance to see the active volcano in Santorini where you can walk on dried lava to the peak, feeling the heat under your feet and seeing the sulphur steam emerging from the bowels of the earth. You will then sail on over to the hot springs where you can choose to either dive in or step down in to the clear blue waters from where you can then swim to the thermal springs. The last leg of the cruise will have you visit Santorini’s sister Island, Thirassia. Thirassia has many activities in which you can partake like swimming, strolling through the village or taking a few moments for relaxation along with some delicious food.

DAY 7

Santorini to Heraklion - Crete

After breakfast, you will be taken to the port to hop on to a ferry to Heraklion or Crete Island. Crete is one of the largest islands in Greece and that will become apparent once you arrive here. You will then be taken to your hotel for check in.

DAY 8

Explore Crete

After a lip-smacking breakfast at the hotel, you are free to spend the day with your loved one exploring the island of Crete which includes Heraklion, Chania, Agios Nikolaos, Rehymono, Hersonissos and Elounda. Another exciting thing you can engage in here is the superb shopping and nightlife. When here, don’t miss visiting the Heraklio market. And when it comes to local Cretan products, there’s plenty available here. Don’t miss, buying some local olive oil, raki a local alcoholic beverage, wine, and herbs.

DAY 9

Crete to Athens; Departure

After breakfast, it is time for you to say goodbye to this gorgeous island and catch a flight back to Athens.

WHEN TO GO

It’s best to travel to Greece from April to October. To enjoy the beauty of Greece, it’s best to travel during the spring season as boat services become functional then and this offers you amazing view of the many islands. December to March is generally quite cold but it is mild winters in Crete and Rhodes island.
