While on this trip, you arrive in the capital city of Phnom Penh and after spending about 3 days here, visiting monuments, pagodas, stupas and discovering the history of this place, you then move to Siem Reap, home to the UNESCO heritage site, Angkor Wat, here you spend the remainder of the days, visiting Angkor Wat, temples, stupas, and also going on a boat ride to see the floating villages.

  • On Day 1, you arrive in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh and you get to spend the beginning day of your Cambodia holidays in leisure.
  • On Day 2 and Day 3, you go on a city tour around Phnom Penh and you also get to see stupas, museums as well as the pride of Cambodia tourism, Khmer-style royal palace complex.
  • On Day 3, you now move to your next destination in Cambodia, Siem Reap, where you have the day at leisure.
  • From Day 4 to Day 6, you now explore Siem Reap in Cambodia. You have a full day for the UNESCO nominated World Heritage Site of Cambodia Hindu temple, Angkor Wat Temple. And you take a trip down the greatest lake in all of Asia, Tonle Sap Lake to see the Floating Villages.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrival in Phnom Penh

On arrival, the Cambodia tour package guide welcomes you at the airport and you are taken to the hotel and you check in. You spend the rest of the day in leisure.

DAY 2

Phnom Penh

After breakfast, you proceed to visit the impressively colorful Khmer-style royal palace complex build in 1866. Close by is the Silver Pagoda - the Emerald Buddha temple, and there are many Buddha statues made of gold, diamond, gemstone, and silver. After this, you can explore the National Museum, a beautiful Khmer architecturally designed building containing more than 5000 antique works of art. Later on your Cambodia tour package, you would pass through a riverfront park and interestingly, this also serves as the confluence where four rivers meet with the mighty Mekong River being one of them.

Later you walk up the sacred hill Phnom Daun Penh - this is also the name of a pagoda and the name of the present capital city. Lastly, you visit the Central Market and engage in some shopping.

DAY 3

Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

After breakfast, you visit the Genocide Museum that is dedicated to what happened during the Khmer Rouge regime. This museum was designed for interrogation and extermination of anti-Angkor people. Later, you can go shopping around the Russian market and enjoy the bustling daily activities of the locals. After which, you either transfer to the airport or bus station for your onward journey to Siem Reap. On arrival, you transfer to the hotel & check in to the hotel. You have the rest of this day of Cambodia tour package at leisure.

DAY 4

Siem Reap

After breakfast at the hotel, you set out to explore the South Gate of Angkor Thom which is regarded as Big Angkor. Angkor Thom Cambodia served as the last capital of the Khmer Empire and it is spread over 10km. The Bayon Temple which was the State temple of King Jayavarman VII is situated in the heart, in the center. Other monuments here include the Bayon temple, the Royal Enclosure, the Baphuon- the tower of bronze, the Phimeanakas - a temple mountain and the Terrace of Elephants.

In the afternoon, you visit the world-famous, UNESCO nominated World Heritage Site, Angkor Wat Temple, situated just south of Angkor Thom. It is one of the largest religious complexes in the world. The temple flanked by 5 towers is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is filled with carvings of apsaras or fairies and you can find over 3,000 apsara carvings here.

In the evening, visit Angkor night market and you stay overnight in the hotel in Siem Reap.

DAY 5

Siem Reap

After breakfast, in the morning, you visit Wat Thmei (Killing Fields) which showcases a unique glass-walled stupa which is home to the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge regime. Later, you visit the "Les Artisans d'Angkor - Chantiers Ecole" which is an authentic and one of the finest Khmer Arts and Crafts center, as well as among the best places to visit in Cambodia.

In the afternoon, you visit the beautiful Floating Villages that is located about 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap! You take a ride in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia and it is also the largest in Asia.

You will also visit Wat Bo that was built in the 18th century. This highly respected pagoda is well preserved by Cambodia tourism and showcases beautiful wall paintings of the Reamker (Ramayana). And you also get to visit a local market in the vicinity.

DAY 6

Departure from Siem Reap

After breakfast, you have the remainder of the day at leisure, until it is time to depart to the airport. An airport transfer takes you to the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport as your Cambodia tour package comes to an end and you are homeward bound.
