These Himalayan pilgrimages are most sought after by pilgrim travellers and require advance planning of 2-4 months.

Amarnath Yatra

Amarnath Yatra (Open June - August) is where Lord Shiva devotees undertake a pilgrimage of the Amarnath Cave where ice Shiva Lingam is formed every year. The caves (13000+ ft asl) can be visited either from Sonamarg (Baltal) or Pahalgam (Chandanwari). Guests have an option to trek from Baltal / Chandanwari to Panchtarmi and then approach Amarnath Cave or go on helicopter rides from Baltal / Pahalgam to Panchtarmi and then undertake a 6 km (2 hour) walk or pony ride to Amarnath Cave. Typically, Amarnath Yatra packages are of 2 or 3 nights ex-Srinagar.
