Thimphu - Paro Extended Getaway

OVERVIEW

Drukgyel Dzong – Drukgyal Dzong was a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins. One of the features of the dzong was a false entrance that lured the returning Tibetan invaders into an enclosed courtyard during a second attack.

Kuensel Phodrang – Kuensel Phodrang alias Buddha Point is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue constructed in the mountains of Bhutan.The statue houses over one hundred thousand smaller Buddha statues. It is one of the most happening points in Thimphu and you can get best pictures with a good overview of Thimphu Valley.

Rinpung Dzong – Rinpung Dzong is a large dzong - Buddhist monastery and fortress - of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school in Paro District, Bhutan. It houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag

Taksang Monastery – Paro Taktsang, is a prominent Himalayan Buddhist sacred site and the temple complex is in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan. It requires a trek of about 2 hrs from the base where you can admire its beauty and valley views along with your loved one.
