Go Museum hopping!

1. Visit the Puri Lukisan Museum

Ubud is referred to as the ‘Cultural capital of Bali’. And that is because it is home to many art galleries and museums.

If you love paintings and art, then visit the Puri Lukisan, a modern arts museum. It was started by Rudolf Bonnet, Walter Spies, and Cokorda Gede Agung Sukawati who is a Balinese Prince and a famous local artist.

2. The Agung Rai Museum of Art

ARMA or the Agung Rai Museum of Art is a cultural centre and a gallery. And among best places to visit in Ubud for those who want to witness local arts and culture, make a visit here.

3. Peruse Neka Art Museum

One of the best and most popular art museums is the Peruse Neka Art Museum. Showcased here are both antique and modern artworks. Local artists have also showcased their work here. While here, you can buy some nice metalwork, clothes, paintings, and jewelry.

1. A great view and a nice dining experience

If you want to try some great vegetarian food with an organic angle, then visit the Sari Organik restaurant. And don’t just visit here for the food. The surroundings and views it offers are simply amazing. You are surrounded by beautiful rice fields and water at this prime places to visit in Ubud.

For great views and great food, you may also visit The Elephant restaurant facing the Campuhan Ridge and the Warung Bintangbali situated amidst the famous Indonesian rice fields.

2. Go gourmet!

One of the must-eat restaurants in Ubud is Locavore. They serve great fusion food. Interestingly, they even have a 9-course tasting menu. And if you want to visit here, book in advance.

3. Dine at the Rabbit café - Maha Restaurant

Visiting the Maha Restaurant is like reliving a fairy tale! This rabbit café is perfect for those of you who are on a family vacation. And your kids will love it! And that is because you will be surrounded by cute little bunnies scurrying around. While here, you can pet the bunnies and kids will have a great time! When you think about things to do in Bali with kids; this restaurant serves as the perfect break in your packed Ubud itinerary.

And to keep company is great cocktails, coffee and some good food in the form of pancakes, crepes and more.

4. Enjoy a coffee break at the Seniman Coffee Studio

For the best, must-try Balinese coffee, visit this neatly designed coffee shop in Ubud - Seniman Coffee Studio. They serve many different coffee brews and if you want a nice break, then just enjoy coffee while relaxing and rocking in the easy chairs.

5. Sample Street Food at the Gianyar Night Market!

If you want to know what typical, local Balinese street food is like, then visit the Gianyar Night Market. One of the top places to visit in Ubud, this market  is known for some mouthwatering food. And after a nice little feast, you can also go shopping around here.

1. Watch the Legong dance

The Legong dance originated in the 12th century based on an East Java legend. The dance showcases the nice storyline and the music and the dance is very interesting. It happens in many venues across Ubud like the Peliatan Village, Pura Dalem Puri and Puri Saren.

2. Watch the famed Kecak dance performance

Ubud is home to many local dances like the Kecak dance. The dance is based on the Ramayana and about 60 men wearing sarongs dance to rhythmic music and chanting. This weekly dance ritual happens Monday nights at the Junjungan village Temple on Jalan Tirta Tawar.

1. Take a day’s tour of Bali and explore things to see in Bali

While here, you can hire a local taxi or driver and go visiting the famous temples, museums and other places of interest in and around Bali and Ubud. Don’t miss visiting the quiet Pura Luhur Batakaru, Tanah Lot and the Kintamani volcano.

2. Rent a Motorcycle

If you feel like driving yourself, then rent a motorcycle to explore the nearby areas. It is not too expensive and you need to have travel insurance and a license to drive around.

3. Join a cooking class or an art class

If you love food and want to learn a new cuisine, then you should just join any of the many cookery classes in Ubud. You can also join some batik painting and jewelry making classes too if you have the time.

4. Go on a cycling tour

If you are in the mood to cycle, then take the Bali Eco Cycling tour which happens mostly going downhill and you don’t really have to pedal even. You can cycle through rice fields, the countryside and you also pass an over 500-year-old banyan tree.

5. You can bravely hug a bear at the Pod Chocolate Factory and Café

An Australian by name, Toby Garrit came up with this unique idea to create one of the world’s best chocolates. And yes, his chocolates have been receiving great reviews these days, making it among preferred places to visit in Ubud.

While here, go on a tour around the chocolate factory and kids would love the session where they can try making chocolate!

And last but not the least, you can hug the resident honey bears, and it is absolutely safe too. And all it costs is USD 10.
