Here are a couple of Vietnam holiday tips while you're here:
Dong Khoi is in the heart of the city central district. Here is where you will find many places to visit and see, like the HCMC Museum that showcases age-old artifacts, the Notre Dame Cathedral built in the 19th century- The Gallic architecturally designed Cathedral was built by the French and it is said that all the materials were imported from France.
For some interesting French-style architecture, step into the Da Kao district and check out a couple old, vintage buildings.
And yes not to miss in these roundabouts is the Jade Emperor Pagoda that is symbolic of the Taoist and Buddhist religions.
While in the area, the Vietnam travel guide suggests the History Museum for you to learn a little about Vietnam’s history.
A couple of other must-visits include:
Cu Chi Tunnels
A visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels is just something else. It is an underground city by itself. And it was from these tunnels that the soldiers planned and strategized their every move. And it was here where they resided during wartime too. And as a visitor, you get to go through these narrow tunnels and see the world below that is definitely a marvel by itself.
Best part of Vietnam to visit - Saigon Central Post Office
Every single Vietnam travel guide will prod you to visit The Saigon Central Post Office. Built in 1891 AD, this French colonial themed architecturally designed building was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the same architect who built the famed Eiffel Tower in Paris. And to date, it has been well-preserved and it still seems to be in a good condition.
