South Korea Travel- How to Spend 48 Hours in Busan

Day 1 in Busan, South Korea Travel

Stop 1: Taejongdae National Park - Located at the southernmost tip of the island of Yeongdo-gu, Taejondae albeit being located at a distance is well worth your time and effort, just make sure you have an early start to the day to get the most of the park. Furthermore, what better way to begin the day than hiking through this picturesque park with lush green forests and rocky cliffs overlooking the azure sea? There are several famous attractions housed within the park for tourists to explore such as an amusement park, observatory, cruise ship terminal and a lighthouse. While you can spend hours together exploring Taejongdae, an hour or two is more than sufficient to revel in its beauty.

Stop 2: Oryukdo Skywalk - This glass skywalk extends up to 350 meters over Songdo Beach. Walking on the skywalk feels as if you are floating over the water whilst feeling the strong gusts of ocean wind blowing through your hair, it’s an unforgettable South Korea Travel experience! Looking through the mounted binoculars will fetch you a glimpse of the spectacular city skyline.

Stop 3: Gamcheon Culture Village - Imagine an entire village engulfed in brightly colored hues, works of art and interactive displays - this visual may seem like it’s out of a dream but your visit to Gamcheon Culture Village will prove that such sites exist in reality as well. The restoration of the village, fondly known as the ‘Machu Picchu of Busan’, has played an important role in the cultural significance of Gamcheon, as thousands of tourists visit every day and walk through the labyrinth of Gamcheon’s colorfully painted quaint houses, steep steps, tiny streets which eventually lead to street art and public sculptures dotted throughout the pathway. Stop 4: Biff Square - A day packed with so many activities is bound to work up your appetite. Biff Square has something for everyone - from foodies, movie buffs to shopaholics. You can gorge on some delicious street food as you marvel at the many statues of famous movie stars or shop your heart out for apparel, bags, high-end gadgets, cosmetics and shoes. The street is also lined with buildings that house some of the biggest brands in the world.

Day 2

Stop 1: Shinsegae Centum City - You can never have enough of shopping. So, after a good night’s rest, you can head to Shinsegae Centum City which is the largest departmental store in the world. You can pick up souvenirs and branded apparel for your family back home. What’s more? You can also indulge in a therapeutic spa session to relieve all the shopping exertion.

Stop 2: Haedong Yonggungsa Temple - Walking along the wooden staircase built on the side of the mountain, reveals the view of the ancient temple of Haedong Yonggungsa. In South Korea, most temples are tucked away in the mountains, this is one of the many temples in the country which overlooks the sea. As waves crash against the rocks, the temple remains unaffected and calm in its demeanor, allowing for spiritual enlightenment. Peace and tranquility is what you will experience as you walk around taking in the sights of the temple. Being one of the most popular temples in South Korea, it is a must visit on your South Korea Travel to Busan to observe its history, architecture and stunning ocean views.

Stop 3: Sea Life Busan Aquarium - There is no better way to spend the afternoon than by strolling through Sea Life Busan Aquarium. With over 250 species and up to 35,000 marine animals, the aquarium offers a stunning display of marine creatures and aquatic flora. Whether it's petting a starfish, watching stingrays swim underneath you through a glass bottom or watching the fish being fed, Sea Life Aquarium has a multitude of experiences to capture your attention and keep you engrossed. Don’t miss dancing as a penguin or getting mesmerized by the sea urchins under UV light.

Stop 4: Dongbaekseom Island - A part of the mainland, Dongbaekseom is located at a short walk from Haeundae Beach. A small trek, where you will need to climb up wooden staircases which spiral along the beautiful ocean, takes you to a lighthouse. The lighthouse deck offers a stunning view of Busan’s skyline, Nurmimaru APEC House and Gwangan Bridge. The area is well known to be used by locals for walking and exercising, so activity around the area is abundant. You can stroll around, walk to the different viewpoints and click plenty of photos for a memorable South Korea Travel.

Stop 5: Haeundae Beach - No trip to Busan is complete without a visit to the most beautiful beach, Haeundae. The sparkling waters of the beach coupled with the cool breeze and incredible sunset are the best way to bring in a glorious evening. The beach attracts street performers such as comedians and singers who can keep you entertained for hours.
