Bhopal Heritage Getaway

OVERVIEW

Bhopal is an old city that has a lot of history and heritage and is very popularly known as the “City of Lakes” It has both natural and artificial water bodies. Walking by the lakeside on the promenade is a common practice in Bhopal.

The Sanchi Stupas are a famous attraction situated in the Northern part of Bhopal. It is not just grand, but is intricately carved out and the craftsmanship has withstood the test of time since its installation way back in the 3rd century BC. To walk around this heritage site, is by itself an out-of-the-world feeling.

Another prominent attraction is the Bhojpur Shiva Temple located in the eastern part of Bhopal. It houses one of the tallest Shiva Lingams in India that stands at a towering 18 ft. The site attracts both senior citizen travelers and pilgrims alike.

The Bhimbetka Rock Shelters are beautiful caves and believe it or not, dating back to the Stone Age. The cave is filled with ancient stone paintings that leave tourists in absolute awe of the place as it dates back to the prehistoric era.   

Bhopal is also known for its greenery and lushness, a drive around Bhopal can be the perfect subject for photography lovers.
