Day 1: Arrive at Haridwar / Dehradun airport and drive to Kund Arrive at Haridwar / Dehradun airport and drive to Kund (300 ft asl - 190 kms - 5.5 hours), a riverside area and base point to explore Chopta Valley. Later in the day, you enjoy water-based activities such as bridge slithering and river crossing under expert guidance. You return to the camp for a quiet dinner.
Day 2: Trek to Deoria Tal - Ukhimath Today, you set out on a hike to the beautiful Deoria Tal Lake (8000 ft asl). Based on your inclination and ability, we can either pick a shorter trail of 2.5 km (2 hrs) or 8 kms (6 hrs). You will pass through villages, wooded trails, lush flora and enjoy the backdrop of the Chaukhamba peak. You will arrive at the lake for lunch and in the afternoon, you drive back to Kund while taking a small detour enroute to visit the Ukhimath temple (4000 ft asl), the winter seat of the Kedarnath deity and an important stop on the Char Dham yatra. You return to the lodge by the evening.
Day 3: Chopta Valley - Tungnath - Chandrashila Today, you drive to the famous ‘Mini-Switzerland of India’, Chopta (7000 ft asl), known for a variety of bird life, meadows and superb Himalayan views. You spend a large part of the day here, either relaxing in the meadows or hiking up to the Tungnath temple (11000 ft asl - 4-5 hours). For those of you who like an extra challenge, you can also trek up to Chandrashila (13000 ft asl), which is another hour from Tungnath temple. Tungnath (1000+ years old) is the highest Shiva temple in the world. In the evening, you drive back to Chalkot Camp. We arrive at the camp towards late evening for a rewarding view. You take a downhill 200 metre walk through the Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary reserve forest, part of Nanda Devi Biophere to reach the camp. You enjoy a quiet evening under the star-spangled sky.
Day 4: Drive to Jayalgarh Today you leave early for the riverside camp at Jayalgarh (100 kms - 3 hours). Once at Jayalgarh, you enjoy a multitude of water activities such as kayaking, duckie rides, cliff jumping, body surfing, etc. Thereafter, you enjoy a hearty barbeque with some live music.
Day 5: Depart from Jayalgarh to Haridwar / Dehradun In the morning you head for rafting in the Alaknanda River. After rafting you proceed to Haridwar / Dehradun Railway Station / Airport (110 kms - 3 hours from Dehradun Airport) for onward departure.
