Day 1: Arrive at Kathgodam and travel to Ranikhet Arrive at Kathgodam Railway station and from there, travel to Ranikhet (6500 ft asl - 75 kms - 3 hours), a Himalayan hamlet with an idyllic hill station character. You spend the day hiking around the lodge in the pine forests, getting acquainted with Ranikhet. You will be able to sight many endangered species of birds enroute.
Day 2: Around Ranikhet Today, the day is reserved for rope activities and a trek to Chamu temple. The topography of Ranikhet is perfect for beginners for rope activities. You spend a couple of hours learning rope activities and by end of it, you may just be climbing rocks. In the evening, you trek to Chamu temple, dedicated to the local deity. The trail goes through the pine forest with a mix of uphill and easy walks. From the temple you can see fascinating views of Almora, Mukhteshwar and Great Himalayan peaks. On the return trek, we stopover at the local village to capture sights and sounds of the locals. From the village, we walk back to the lodge through forest trails.
Day 3: Cycling tour of Ranikhet Today, you spend time cycling in Ranikhet. You also visit many popular sightseeing areas enroute. You visit Kumaon Regimental Museum (exhibits the life of the Kumaon and Garhwal regiment), Chaubatia garden (Apple and Apricot Garden) followed by the Ranikhet Golf Course, one of the highest golf courses of Asia.
Day 4: Travel to Corbett - Visit Wildlife Museum and Experience Elephant Safari Today you drive to Corbett National park, India’s oldest national park. It is a complete amalgamation of hills, rivers, grasslands, wildlife and fauna. Home to nearly 650 birds, 50 species of mammals, 25 reptile species and 110 species of trees, Corbett is a nature lovers delight. After arrival, we the visit the wildlife museum and indulge in an elephant safari. A short hike can be taken amidst this fascinating natural reserve witnessing extraordinary views.
Day 5: In and around Corbett Today, we wake up amidst beautiful surroundings and you head out for a jeep safari in Corbett National Park. Here is an opportunity to spot the Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Wild Elephants, Monkeys, Barking Deer, Sambar Deer, Golden Jackal, etc. If you are fortunate, you might spot the Royal Bengal Tiger. In the evening, we head for bird watching where you can witness many migratory birds and native species, a complete delight for all bird lovers. Some of the native species you witness are Hornbill, Blue Magpie, Wood pecker, Blue Whistling Thrust, Egyptian Vulture, etc.
Day 6: Depart from Corbett to Ramnagar Depart from Corbett to Ramnagar (10 kms) for the train to Delhi.
