Day 1 - Arrive at Coimbatore and drive to Ooty Arrive at Coimbatore and proceed to Ooty (6500+ ft asl - 80 kms - 2.5 hours), the most popular hill station in South India, renowned for its colonial heritage character, lakeside, view points and tea plantations. The drive to Ooty is scenic and you may stopover enroute at viewpoints. You will arrive at Ooty by late afternoon. In the evening, visit the lake area for boating.
Day 2 - Explore Ooty Today you explore areas in and around Ooty such as Dodabetta Peak (View Point), Raj Bhawan (Colonial Character), St. Stephens Church (19th Century), Rose garden, Botanical garden, Shooting point (where Bollywood movies have been shot) and Wax Museum. You return to the hotel by late afternoon. Rest of the day is for you to explore Ooty on your own.

Day 3 - Excursions from Ooty - Coonoor Or Kalahatty Today you undertake a half day excursion to Pykara Falls (24 kms), Kalhatty Falls (13 kms) and Kalhatty viewpoint (25 kms). Hang gliding is organised at Kalhatty in summer and is therefore a major attraction here. Alternatively, you may take an excursion to Coonoor (4000+ ft asl - renowned for its tea plantations) and neighbouring areas of Kotagiri. Some of the popular areas to visit in Coonoor are Sim's park, Droog's Fort and Dolphin's nose view point.
Note: You may opt for a short Nilgiri heritage train ride between Metupalayam and Ooty (Tickets to be booked in advance).
Day 4 - Travel to Pollachi via Dhyanlinga (Isha Yoga Centre) Today you travel to Pollachi (2000+ ft asl - 130 kms - 3 hours), a countryside getaway between Ooty and Kodaikanal, renowned for its villages, reserve forests and plantations. Enroute you visit Dhyanlinga, a yogic temple and home of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. The temple is one of its kind and offers a unique experience for travellers. After spending some time at the temple you proceed to Pollachi and reach by afternoon.
Day 5 - Excursions around Pollachi Today you have different options to explore around Pollachi. You may either travel up the highlands to Valparai area (60 kms), renowned for its tea plantations OR visit the Annamalai Wildlife Sanctuary (40 kms) or explore villages and countryside around Pollachi. You also have an option to enjoy the resort, its surroundings and a session of rejuvenating Ayurveda massage.
Day 6 - Travel to Kodaikanal via Palani Temple Travel to Kodaikanal (7000 ft asl - 130 kms - 3 hours), one of the most popular hill stations in South India, renowned for its lakeside, views and laidback character. Enroute you will visit Palani Temple, a Lord Murugan Temple and one of the most visited pilgrim centres in South India. Palani darshan typically takes a couple of hours. So, you will reach Kodaikanal by late afternoon. Rest of the day for you to explore Kodaikanal on own.
Day 7 - Explore Kodaikanal Today you explore Kodaikanal to visit some viewpoints (Coakers Walk), Gardens (Bryant Park), the lake (Boating), museum (Shembaganur Museum of Natural History) and local temple (Kurinji Andavar Temple). You return to your hotel by late afternoon. Rest of the day is for you to explore Kodaikanal on your own.
Day 8 - Depart for Coimbatore Today you travel to Coimbatore (170 kms - 4 hours) for onward departure.
You have an option to depart from Madurai (120 kms - 2.5 hours), close airport and railhead than Coimbatore (170 kms - 4 hours).
If you are taking the Madurai option, then based on your departure flight / train time you may look to visit the renowned Meenakshi Amman Temple (a major heritage traveller attraction and one of the Shaktipeetha Temples).
