Amarnath Yatra by Helicopter

OVERVIEW

Sonamarg, the base point of the Amarnath Yatra, offers the best views of the gorgeous Thajiwas glacier. Devotees travel to remote areas to worship a self-incarnated Lord Shiva ice lingam (Baba Bholenath). The lingam is said to be formed at a location 1100 foot above sea level and it is over 5000 years old.

It is a yearly event where thousands of devotees travel from all over India to give offerings to Baba Bholenath (ice lingam).

The Amarnath Cave is in such a remarkable yet dangerous area, which is not easily accessible yet offers the most wonderful views in Kashmir.

The ice lingam is miraculously formed every year in the cave, and seeing it, especially in real life is a supreme spiritual experience.
