OVERVIEW

Safaris of the Central and Eastern range offer the best experience while visiting the park. Witness and find a range of wildlife like the one-horned rhino, wild elephants, buffaloes and tigers. You can find 300+ species of birds in the Range during winter.

The beautiful plantation bungalows set amidst working tea estates offers a British-era living experience offering stunning views of the lush stretches of tea plantations.

Majuli Island is easily accessible by a boat ride and showcases a whole different side of Assam. It is the largest riverine island in the world and is known to the Cultural Capital of Assam since the 16th century. The villages around this area indulge in art and crafts and an undertaking trip to here is an experience worth a lifetime, accompanied by stunning sights of migratory birds.

WHEN TO GO

The park is pretty much inaccessible during the monsoon months which are essentially, June through August owing to flooding and heavy rains. The best time to visit the park is during the months of November-April.
