OVERVIEW

If you want a holiday with a difference, and plan on exploring the Scandinavian regions with your partner, then this 11-day trip is a must-try. As a couple you get to visit faraway lands and your trip takes you to the capital cities of Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen via train, air and water. Scandinavian regions are relatively unexplored territory, so for a quiet holiday as a couple, this is ideal. While on this trip, you arrive in Helsinki, Finland and then 11 days later, you depart from Copenhagen, Denmark.

  • On Day 1 and Day 2, you arrive in Helsinki by flight and the following day you set out exploring Finland’s beautiful capital city, Helsinki, visiting the many landmarks.
  • From Day 3, to Day 5, you embark on your next leg of your memorable journey. You travel overnight on the Tallinn Silja ferry from Helsinki to Stockholm and upon arrival in Stockholm you have time to do things in leisure and also undertake the Stockholm city tour.
  • On Day 6 and Day 7, you travel by train from Stockholm to Oslo and the following day you go on an Oslo city tour.
  • On Day 8, you travel overnight on the DFDS ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen.
  • On Day 9 and Day 10, on arrival, you get to spend some time in leisure and then you also go on the Copenhagen city tour.
  • On Day 11, your trip comes to a close and you return home from Copenhagen, Denmark.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

Arrival in Helsinki

You arrive in Helsinki by flight. Transfer to a hotel by a private vehicle. You stay overnight in a hotel in Helsinki.

DAY 2

Helsinki Panorama City Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you embark on a Helsinki Panorama tour on seat in coach basis. Your Helsinki city orientation tour takes you to the Modern Finlandia Hall, the City Hall, and the Parliament House, the Presidential Palace, the charming railroad station, the Helsinki Cathedral, Olympic Stadium and the Sibelius monument. And a not to miss is a visit to the Market Square - here you can find vendors and stores filled with fresh food, knickknacks and souvenirs.

DAY 3

Overnight Ferry to Stockholm

After breakfast at the hotel, you transfer to a pier by a private vehicle to catch the Tallinn Silja ferry to Stockholm. You travel overnight in the ferry (Interior Cabin).

DAY 4

Arrival in Stockholm

You arrive in Stockholm. Transfer to a hotel by a private vehicle and you spend the day in leisure. You stay overnight in a hotel in Stockholm.

DAY 5

Stockholm Panorama Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you go on a Stockholm Panorama tour on seat in coach basis. You proceed for a tour of the Swedish capital accompanied by an experienced local English-speaking guide. You get to see the impressive City Hall. It is stunning both in terms of artistic trimmings and its interesting architecture. Every year, the Nobel Prize banquet takes place here. You also get to visit the Royal Palace and the Cathedral. After this, you visit the Old Town area which is well-known for its charming, narrow lanes and streets that is said to be around from the Middle Ages.

DAY 6

Train to Oslo

After breakfast at the hotel, you transfer from the hotel to the station to board train to Oslo (Second class). You arrive in Oslo and stay overnight in a hotel there.

DAY 7

Oslo Selected Highlights Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, you go on an Oslo Selected Highlights Tour on Seat in Coach basis. While in Oslo, you visit the Town House, the House of Parliament, the Royal Palace and the imposing Akershus fortress. A not to miss is the splendid Vigeland Sculpture Park. Incidentally, this is also the highlight of your city tour. And yes, a visit to the famed Karl Johan Street completes it. Later, you visit the Viking Ship Museum. This is home to the well-preserved, old Viking Ships from a bygone era. A lot of artifacts and relics dating back to the Viking period can be found here.

DAY 8

Overnight Ferry to Copenhagen

After breakfast in the hotel, you transfer to a pier by a private vehicle to catch the DFDS ferry to Copenhagen. You travel overnight in the ferry (Interior Cabin).

DAY 9

Arrival in Copenhagen

You arrive in Copenhagen, transfer to the hotel in a private vehicle and spend the day at leisure. You stay overnight in a hotel in Copenhagen.

DAY 10

Copenhagen Panorama Tour

After breakfast in the hotel you embark on the Copenhagen Panorama tour on seat in coach basis. While on the Copenhagen Panorama Tour, you see the City Hall, the Parliament building, you visit the Amalienborg Palace, which is where the royal family resides. You also visit the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, the Gefion fountain, Little Mermaid and other interesting landmarks and places of interest.

DAY 11

Departure from Copenhagen

After breakfast in the hotel, you transfer to the airport by a private vehicle for your onward flight.

WHEN TO GO

The Scandinavian countries comprise of Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Iceland. Considering the cold winters and freezing temperatures, the best times to visit these Nordic regions is definitely, the spring-summer seasons. And this would typically be the months from April or May to September. However, if you want to see the Northern lights, the winter months between November and February are just perfect.
