South Indian Temple Tour

OVERVIEW

South Indian temples are known for their spirituality and serenity and it’s like going back in time to the past tradition and architecture.

Most of the temples are a part of a group of temples that have their significance such as Arupadaiveedu (Lord Murugan), Jyotirlinga (Lord Shiva), Shaktipeetha (Devi), Divya Desam (Lord Vishnu) etc.

Kerala is home to some of the most ancient temples, as much as 5000+ years old. Temples are simple, have wooden architecture and perform ceremonies the same way for many centuries.

Temples in Tamil Nadu are mainly carved from stone and have high value in heritage and architecture. Meenakshi Temple in Madurai has 14 Gopurams (entry gates - highest being 160 feet tall) and the entire complex is so huge that it takes 2-3 hours to visit.

Rameshwaram temple overlooks the vast Bay of Bengal and offers breath-taking views.

Palani Murugan temple is nestled on a hill and features spectacular views of the water and surrounding countryside.

Kumari Amman Temple proudly stands on the Vivekananda Rock, being able to witness the spirituality and convergence of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean is truly magical.
